Podcasts for Positivity
Recently I started listening to podcasts. When I began feeling unwell, I was limited to what I could do. Listening to podcasts helped keep me feeling more positive and focused- especially when all I felt able to do was lie in bed with my eyes closed.
Although I found them particularly useful during my sickness, they are also great for motivation, learning something new or as an alternative for boredom.
Why Listen to Podcasts?
So why did I get involved with listening to podcasts? At first, I began using them to replace sitting mindlessly in front of the TV but they really became useful when I got ill. It is a nice alternative to watching TV or Netflix or even music if you fancy a break.
When I travelled to Oslo alone, they were wonderful for keeping me company (with the added bonus of not draining my phone battery as quickly as other apps).
One of the other things I really like about podcasts is having access to so much information and opinions for free. Podcast apps are essentially audio libraries, and I love a library!
Podcasts I’m Listening to Right Now
Miss Manifestation was founded by a lovely woman, Emma, who shares her life experiences and helpful tips with her listeners. If you’re interested in Manifestation then she is definitely worth listening to. Personally, I find her entertaining and enlightening; her podcasts have certainly cheered me up during some more difficult times.
One of the things I like so much about many of her podcasts is that they are relatively short. In 10 minutes you can hear a great opinion or learn a new mindset. There are also longer episodes that are about an hour long, but these are generally interviews with other fantastic speakers.
This channel is run by Jenn, a life coach who also writes the Aligned Life blog. If you’re looking to build yourself up, face your problems and learn how to feel stronger then you’ll certainly want to listen to what Jenn has to say.
Typically, episodes are compact which works well for me and certainly makes it easier to fit them into your schedule!
Sarah Prout- Journey To Manifestation
Sarah has an inspiring story and listening to her can be really uplifting. She is great to listen to if you want to get involved in Manifesting things in your life or if you prefer reading then her blog is there too.
You may notice that the podcast channels I listen to at the moment focus on Manifestation. If you are a frequent visitor of my blog, you may already know this is an interest of mine. Despite this, i do also find time to listen to lifestyle channels, and mediation and well-being ones.
If you’re a fan of free education then this is perfect for you. Or, if you’re someone who finds themselves alone or has a tendency to overthink, it can be a good to hear someone else’s voice. You don’t even have to like or agree with what they have to say- you may find yourself inspired by opposing viewpoints.
On My List to Listen to
Recently I have started learning about tarot! I got a deck and in order to help me learn all about reading the cards, I have added Gala Darling, Biddy Tarot and the Tarot Lady to my list of people to listen to.
There are some great guided meditation podcasts available, and my commitment to meditating has me feeling drawn to those.
I’m sure my list of podcast subscriptions will grow in 2019 as I find myself drawn to using my time to learn from others rather than playing games!
Good Use of Your Time
Podcasts can provide great company while you travel, work or get your housework done. It’s certainly a positive feeling when you can get something done while keeping your brain stimulated with learning.
What experience do you have with podcasts? Would you consider including them in your weekly routine?
